Two Colombian Cities Ranked Among the World’s Top 10 Most Authentic
Colombia continues to break records and is gaining international recognition once again.
The renowned Swiss newspaper Travel News Switzerland has published an article ranking the ten most authentic cities in the world. Colombia takes the top spot with its capital Bogotá, while the city of eternal spring, Medellín, also secures an impressive seventh place.
The ranking is based on an analysis conducted by travel insurance specialist Insure and Go, which evaluated more than 1.3 million Google reviews worldwide. The goal was to identify the world’s most authentic cities by analysing how often terms such as “authentic”, “local”, and “traditional” appeared in traveller reviews.
The results were outstanding for Colombia. According to traveller feedback, Bogotá was ranked the most authentic city in the world, achieving the maximum score of 100 points. As highlighted by Travel News Switzerland, visitors particularly value the city’s street art, the historic neighbourhoods around La Candelaria, and the authenticity of everyday life.
South American cities dominate the ranking overall, with seven of the top ten located on the continent. Colombia stands out as the only country represented by two cities.
The study once again confirms that travelling to Colombia and South America is not only safe, but also offers deeply authentic experiences and a unique cultural richness.
