New activities at Las Islas Hotel

Great news! One of our favorite hotels continues to improve and now offers exciting activities that will enhance your clients' stay, making it an unforgettable experience. If they are at Hotel Las Islas in Cartagena, we recommend that they try the nighttime bioluminescence tour, explore the mangroves, or enjoy some snorkeling. 

Below, we share the descriptions of each of these activities:

Nighttime Bioluminescence Tour (1 hour):

During this tour, we will explore the beaches near the Cholón swamp to observe the plankton around the mangroves. Plankton consists of a group of organisms, mostly microscopic, that float in the saline waters of the hydrosphere; they have the ability to generate flashes of light that are easily seen on these beaches, especially on full moon nights.
Departure time: 7:30 p.m.
Meeting point: Maritime reception of the hotel.
The tour includes: snorkeling mask, local guide, boat transport.
It is recommended to wear comfortable swimwear and water shoes.
Activity subject to weather conditions.

Mangrove Tour (1 hour):

Today we will explore the mangrove ecosystem around the Coral National Natural Park of Rosario in a wooden canoe; accompanied by our local guide, we will learn about the vital role of mangroves in protecting coastlines, providing habitat for a diversity of fauna, and supporting the delicate balance between marine and terrestrial life; additionally, we will have the opportunity to spot different bird species that nest within this ecosystem.
Schedule: from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (subject to canoe availability).
Meeting point: Maritime reception of the hotel.
The tour includes: local guide, boat transport.
Maximum 2 people per canoe.
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a cap.

Snorkeling Tour (1.5 hours):

During this tour of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we will dive into the crystal-clear waters filled with vibrant marine life, where we will find colorful coral gardens, playful tropical fish, and the fascinating beauty of this Caribbean archipelago.
The meeting point for this tour is the hotel’s maritime reception, where we will take a boat to the snorkeling point within the Coral National Natural Park of Rosario.
Schedules: from 9:00  a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This tour includes: basic equipment (snorkel mask, fins), local guide, boat transport.
It is recommended to bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, and a cap.
