Pacific Coast of Colombia - Closure of the airport Nuqui until start of the whale-watching-season

Nuqui and Bahia de Solano on Colombia's Pacific coast are popular destinations for watching humpback whales (the whale season lasts from July to November). However, the Pacific coast is not only impressive because of the huge marine mammals, but also for the incredible diversity of species and plants.

Please be advised that the Nuqui airport was closed a few days ago due to works on the runway. As a result, air traffic at Nuqui is currently restricted. The construction work will officially end on 2 July 2023, just in time for the start of the whale watching season.

For information on alternative routes to the hotels in Nuqui and the surrounding area, please contact your Kiubo Incoming Manager directly. There is, for example, the possibility of arriving by speedboat from Bahia Solano (2 hours from Bahia Solano to Nuqui).

If current bookings in Nuqui are affected by the restrictions, we will contact you immediately.
